The MTC is a remarkably energetic place. We entered on Monday, June 8 to spend a week learning about how to be a missionary. Here we are in our missionary badges standing in front of a giant map pointing to the little corner of the world where we’ll be serving. Hundreds of young men, young women and senior couples like us attend meetings and classes. Besides the scriptures, the major text is Preach My Gospel. Our main teachers are young return missionaries attending BYU. These incredibly bright twenty-somethings labor diligently to teach us how to more lovingly and more effectively approach and invite people to learn more about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Though our assignment will focus on the gospel principle of self reliance, we loved learning from our coaches.
For the Grandkids: How many young missionaries came to the MTC on the week we were there? Over 600. Yes, the cafeteria was busy that day.
